One of the great lessons Jesus taught us is to believe in what He can do. Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes’”.
Living in faith is trusting God even when His answer isn’t what we hoped for. Every prayer we pray is heard by God, but His answers aren’t always what we want or expect. Sometimes it’s a clear “yes,” other times a definite “no.” And then there are those moments where His response feels like, “Not yet” or “I have something better.”
In these moments, faith requires us to trust God’s character more than our desired outcomes. Psalm 9:10 reminds us, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Trusting God means recognizing that His love for us is greater than we can comprehend. His “no” is never a rejection but a redirection.
Think about a parent with a child. If we gave children everything they asked for, would it really be loving? Sometimes saying “no” or “not yet” is the best way to protect and prepare them for what’s ahead. God operates the same way. He sees the entire picture: the beginning, the end, and every detail in between.
Faith shines brightest when we believe in God’s goodness, even when life feels unfair. Psalm 112:6-7 encourages us: “Surely the righteous will never be shaken… They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” We have to trust that God will give us everything we need.
If you’re in a season of waiting or disappointment, remember that God’s plan for you is always good. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep believing that His timing and ways are perfect. Faith that endures through unanswered prayers is the kind of faith that transforms lives.
