Beliefs

Beliefs are important. After all, what we believe determines how we live. Please take time to investigate our theological beliefs as a church.

We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testament is verbally and completely without error in the original writing and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that God the Father, holy and righteous, is the first person of the Trinity who sovereignly orders and directs the universe for His own purpose, pleasure and glory.

We believe that when Jesus Christ came in human form he was propagated by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and was true God and true man. After He died on the cross He rose from the grave, in bodily form, ascended to heaven, and presently serves as High Priest and Advocate for all believers.

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, seals them until the moment they are resurrected, and fully gifts them for building up the church and spreading the gospel.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God. Therefore, all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

We believe Satan is a fallen angel who, under the sovereign permission of God, has been given temporary power on earth to deceive, tempt and attack all people. However, he was completely defeated at the cross and will one day be cast into the eternal lake of fire.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ took our place and died for our sins. All who confess their sins and believe Him are redeemed and secure in Him forever.

We believe that the Church is made up of all believers in Christ, that in its local expression it is a self-governing assembly of believers; and that its ordinances are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that the physical, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. Though the timing of this “Blessed Hope” is a mystery, the fact of it is as certain as the first coming of Christ.

Our Mission

We exist to engage people with Christ, live in community and serve others.

Our mission as a church is rooted in Christ’s words found in Matthew 4:19. One day Jesus called His disciples by saying, “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” It’s here where Christ called potential followers to engage with Him by following him, to live for Him by obeying Him, and to serve others by modeling Him. That’s why our mission as a church is to engage people with Christ, live in community and serve others. We believe that as we help people engage, live and serve, they will not only live life to its fullest, they will help others to do the same.

Engage

Through intentional hospitality, we invite people into our community, identify their needs and connect them with Jesus to take the next steps in their spiritual journey.

Live

Through understanding and obedience to God and the scriptures, we seek daily to be transformed by Jesus as we follow Him together.

Serve

Through selfless action, we bless people by word and deed so lives are transformed by Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is this: A diverse community seeing future generations transformed by the Gospel.

80% of people who live within a three-mile radius of our church are families. While one-third of those families are Christians, two-thirds either have limited interest in God or no interest at all. Our mission field is all around us!

If you are single, single and desire to one day get married, are a couple and one day desire to have children, or are a family with children either living at home or now having children of their own, True Life is for you. We invite you to join us and help make our vision a reality!

Our Core Values

These values represent the core principles that shape the culture and drive the ministry of True Life. They embody our identity and guide our activity as a local expression of the Body of Christ. In short, the following five convictions reflect the heart of our church ministry. From a theological and practical perspective, we see a natural progression from one value to another as listed below.

Love Without Condition

No matter who you are, where you’ve been, or what you’ve done – you are loved. (John 3:16, 1 John 4:7-12, 1 John 3:18, Romans 12:9-10)

Live With Purpose

Discover your identity in Christ, break the bondages of your past, utilize the gifts and talents He gave you, and live with intention in the fullness of who God created you to be. (Epesians 4:23, Ecclesiastes 3:1, Proverbs 19:21, Romans 8:28, Esther 4:14

Learn Truth

Those who seek will find. We seek to know the truth, the way, and the life. His name is Jesus and we are His perpetual students. (Psalm 32:8, John 8:32, Psalm 25:5, Romans 15:4)

Life Without Limits

Don’t put limits on what God can do in your life. Expect His power to flow through you. You don’t need to figure out the how; God is the how. (Ephesians 3:20-21, Romans 8:37, Matthew 5:19, John 10:10
