That feeling sneaks in when you’re tired, when you fail, when you compare yourself to someone who seems to have it all together. You tell yourself you should be further along by now, stronger by now, better by now. And the lie settles in: “I’m not enough.”
But that lie has never come from God.
The truth is you were never meant to be “enough” in your own strength. That was never the goal. God’s not expecting perfection, He’s asking for surrender.
2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us of what God told the Apostle Paul in a moment of weakness: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
That’s the heart of the gospel. God doesn’t wait for you to clean yourself up or earn His love. He meets you right where you are, with grace that covers, strengthens, and restores.
When you don’t feel good enough, don’t try to fix it by striving harder. Instead, bring your emptiness to the One who fills. Your worth isn’t built on your performance. It’s built on the cross. Jesus didn’t die for your highlight reel. He gave His life for you, fully knowing every flaw and every shortcoming.
The feeling of inadequacy fades when you stop looking at yourself and start looking at Him. When you root your identity in who God says you are, you stop chasing approval and start living from a place of peace. Here’s who God says you are, loved, chosen, redeemed, valued, and purpose filled.
You don’t have to pretend you’re strong when you’re not. You don’t have to carry the pressure to be perfect. You just have to be willing to follow Jesus with all your heart, mind and strength. He’s not disappointed in you. He’s not waiting for you to measure up.
He’s offering rest, and that’s more than enough.
