With all the podcasts, worship playlists, and online sermons available today, it’s easy to wonder, Can’t I just follow Jesus from home? Why does showing up at church still matter?

It’s a fair question, and the answer isn’t about checking a religious box or earning spiritual points. It’s about connection, growth, and obedience.

Hebrews 10:24–25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Gathering with other believers is part of how we grow stronger. Not just for ourselves, but for each other.

Church isn’t a building. It’s a body. A family. A place where you’re reminded you’re not walking this faith journey alone. When you’re struggling, someone else can lift you up. When you’re strong, you get to help carry someone else. When you show up, even on the hard days, it tells the people around you: This matters. You matter. God is still worthy.

You also need spiritual covering: leaders who know you, pray for you, and speak into your life. You need teaching that stretches you and worship that reminds you who God is. And you need the rhythm of being in God’s presence with other believers.

Of course, church isn’t perfect. It’s full of broken people being healed by grace. But that’s exactly the point; real growth happens in community, not comfort.

You were never meant to do this alone. Faith was always designed to be lived out with others, shoulder to shoulder, and heart to heart.

So, if you’ve been on the fence, let this be your reminder: You’re missed, you’re needed, and the Church isn’t complete without you.
