Christmas, often called the “season of peace,” is a time when we come together in a spirit of harmony, tranquility, and the profound peace that transcends societal norms. It is a season that reflects the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and His message of reconciliation and love.
At the heart of our faith lies the gift of peace, a concept deeply rooted in Christian faith. The birth of Jesus, announced by angels with the proclamation of “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14), ushered in a new era of peace and reconciliation.
Christmas is a time when families come together, mirroring the unity that the birth of Jesus represents. It reflects the unity and fellowship encouraged in the Scriptures, as we find in Romans 12:16, “live in harmony with one another”.
God’s peace is like a guiding star that leads us out of darkness and into a life of love, grace, and purpose. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid”.
Christmas serves as a reminder to pursue godly peace in our daily lives. The Bible encourages us to “strive for peace with everyone” (Hebrews 12:14) and to “pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding” (Romans 14:19). The Christmas season is a time to foster a sense of peace within our hearts and to share it with those around us.
Remember, Christmas is a season of peace, symbolizing the gift of reconciliation and tranquility that Jesus brought into the world. It celebrates the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and His message of harmony. May this Christmas be a time of profound peace for you and your family, filled with love, goodwill, and a heart full of praise for Jesus, the great Peacemaker.
