Acting like Jesus means looking at His actions in the Gospels and applying them to our lives today. One powerful example is how Jesus responded to Mary when she poured perfume on His feet. While others criticized her, Jesus welcomed her act of love and defended her (John 12:1-8). This teaches us the importance of valuing sincere gestures of love and devotion, even if they defy societal norms.
Another example is Jesus’ interaction with those on the margins of society. He healed the sick, touched lepers, and ate with sinners (Matthew 8:1-4, Luke 5:27-32). These actions were revolutionary because they showed that everyone is worthy of love and care. We can act like Jesus by reaching out to those who are often overlooked or marginalized, offering kindness and support.
Jesus also demonstrated forgiveness and grace, even to those who wronged Him. When He was on the cross, He prayed for those who were crucifying Him, saying, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). This extraordinary act of forgiveness teaches us to let go of grudges and offer grace, even in difficult circumstances.
Jesus also lived a life of service. He washed His disciples’ feet, showing that true greatness comes from serving others (John 13:1-17). We can act like Jesus by looking for opportunities to serve others in our daily lives, whether through small acts of kindness or larger commitments to help those in need.
Jesus is our ultimate example in everything. If we ever wonder what we should do in any given situation, all we need to do is look toward Jesus! If we follow His example, we can never go wrong!
By welcoming others, caring for the marginalized, offering forgiveness, and serving selflessly, we can act like Jesus and make a positive impact in our world.
