In the Springtime, you can see it all around. Flowers and new growth everywhere. The dormancy of the earth is gone and everything around you is blooming with new life! It’s a beautiful sight to behold and all designed by the hand of our Creator. His boundless creativity is unmatched, and we are blessed to witness it year after year.

In Matthew 6:28–29, Jesus says, “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.” Jesus’ words are a testament to the natural beauty that God’s created all around us.

Martin Luther once said, “Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.”

We must remember that the beauty and splendor of spring flowers didn’t “worry” themselves into their beauty. We should not either! 1 Peter 5:7 reads, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” While our worries get heavy, we don’t need to carry them with us. God is strong enough to handle anything we face, and we have the continued opportunities to place all our worries directly into His mighty hands.

Maybe take a stroll through a park or even stand in a light sprinkle of rain. Take in the new season of spring. Enjoy all the senses, every sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch God has given us. Activities such as these help to center our hearts and minds. Spending time in God’s creation helps us to slow down and place our focus on God once again instead of the worries of this world.

God refreshes the world every Spring. Ask God to do the same in you, in order to bring a newness and freshness into your heart, mind, and spirit. When He does, all your worries will melt away and be replaced by His peace. Walk in His new growth for you today!
